The challenge is how to capture the depth, the movement. In my abstract, acrylic paintings, water sometimes looks like water, but it also sometimes looks like space or sky. Honestly, it’s not something I always control. Some paintings just happen.

In the middle of the Pandemic and with winter making it difficult to do anything outside (I'm in NYC, not ski country), I'm pretty much reduced to eating or painting. I initially tried to counteract our recent gray, snowy weather by painting happy, colorful paintings. So much for that.
As long as the snow is still here, I decided to create some minimalist winter snow paintings with a palette knife on very small canvases. This is the first.
