Winter 16
Painted on unstretched canvas with a palette knife, the composition suits the barren, cold, snow-covered hills I remember from my Canadian childhood. I loved winter back then. The streets were plowed but still snow-covered, with the snow piled up at the sides above my head. I learned to skate on a home-made rink in the vacant lot next to my house in Granby, Quebec. We lived almost at the end of the street and didn't have far to go to get to this scene.
